NC Automobile Dealers Association – 1963

The North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association is one of the few commercial buildings in Raleigh designed by the legendary architect, photographer, and NCSU College of Design professor Brian Shawcroft.

As pointed out at Triangle Modernist Houses, Shawcroft was one of the very few devotees of modernist home design in Raleigh from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Despite being one of the few to carry the torch of modernism during this period of change in modernist architecture, much of his work was on residential design or outside of the area.

Brian Shawcroft is a living legend. Each year he sponsors a freehand drawing competition at the College of Design.
